You must be:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Age 18 or above<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Not a party to the action<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Competent to be a witness at the time of service and at the time of testimony<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you are going to serve for a fee there are a couple of extra items to add:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Registered with your county Audior (unless you qualify under one of the exemptions)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A citizen of the state<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As you will see, the list of appellate cases involving this topic is also rather short.
