Specific written permission from a forwarding agent is required before contact is made with that agent’s client.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

7.2<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Specific written permission is re<\/span>quired before a fee is quoted to a forwarding agent’s client unless the client has initiated the contact and asked for a quote.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

7.3<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Documents are served in accordan<\/span>ce with the laws of the originating jurisdiction or in accordance with instructions from the forwarding agent.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

7.4<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

When provided, proofs supplied by<\/span> the forwarding agent are used.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

7.5<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Proofs are not withheld awaiting payment unless other arra<\/span>ngements are made in advance.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n\n

7.6<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Service assignments are considered accepted when:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\nA.<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\nAcceptance is communicated to the forwarding agent or;<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\nB.<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\nThe first billable work is performed or;<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\nC.<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n\n

Any fee advanced by the forwarding agent is deposited or otherwise used.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n\n

7.7<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Refusal of a service assignment is communicated to the <\/span>forwarding agent using the most expeditious method available. If the method initially used is not a form of writing then it is followed by a written form.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n\n

7.8<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Requests for additional informati<\/span>on or instructions to the forwarding agent are made in writing.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n7.9<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\nAny change in the assignment or fi<\/span>nancial terms, caused as a result of new instructions or information received from the forwarding agent, are communicated in writing to the forwarding agent. Work on the assignment is held in abeyance until the forwarding agent negotiates the change in the assignment or financial terms to the point of acceptance or recalls the assignment.<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\nA.<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\nIn the event the assignment such u<\/span>rgency, such as an expiring statute of limitations, that it is not practical to wait for a reply from the forwarding agent, service attempts should be made at the new address if such is practicable.<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
